Children’s Ministries Director

Purpose: To lead children’s ministries.

Qualifications:

  1. Some level of education in the field of childhood human development.
  2. Evidence a true, mature, and spiritually vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
  3. Ability to relate well and work well with pastoral staff, ministry colleagues, lay leaders, and congregants.
  4. Demonstrated children’s ministry skills.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and teaching skills.
  6. Successful history of developing ministry leaders.
  7. Agree with the CEFC Statement of Faith and CEFC Vision.
  8. Be a regular participant in public worship at CEFC.
  9. Remain a member in good standing of CEFC.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee regular children’s ministries (including teachers, curriculum, and systems), such as:
    1. Childcare.
    2. Children’s Church
    3. Children’s Sunday School
    4. Midweek Children’s programs
  2. Oversee special children’s ministries events, such as:
    1. Vacation Bible School.
    2. Additional quarterly family and community-oriented events in cooperation with the outreach and missions departments (e.g., Harvest Festival, and Christmas and Easter events).
  3. Recruit, train, and coach volunteers and teams to assist in the above responsibilities.
  4. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Relationships:

  1. Reports to the Senior Pastor.
  2. Relates to the Office Administrator.
  3. Coordinates with other members of CEFC Staff, as needed.
  4. Works with volunteer leaders, ministry teams, and the CE committee.

Time Estimation: Part-Time (10 hr/wk).
